About
Decades before Julia Rubiner, aka the Herbal Verbalist, started telling the stories of cannabis brands, she began her own cannabis story smoking hash under the bleachers at a high school football game. She went on to experiment with marijuana at the University of Michigan, where she earned a B.A. in Creative Writing and Literature, and at Geffen Records, where she smoked pot out of a can with the label president the first time they met.
Her enduring love of the plant inspired her to apply her skills as a copywriter and content creator to the budding industry in 2016, when she wrote a press bio for an Oregon master grower farming award-winning weed, in which she made much of the terroir his crop shares with the Willamette Valley’s world-renowned pinots.
Since then Rubiner has blogged on behalf of a CBD skincare line and CBG wholesaler, generated marketing collateral for a craft shatter brand, contributed to a platform for the mature cannabis consumer, delivered a messaging package to a conference startup, authored advertorial for a Central Coast dispensary, ghostwritten a column for a hemp company CEO, helped name a CBD supplement and donated website copy to a social-justice nonprofit, among other collaborations with entrepreneurs, agencies and content collectors.
Based in beautiful downtown Hollywood, the Herbal Verbalist is a proud supporter of the Last Prisoner Project and a firm believer that everyone can benefit from cannabis in some capacity.
